妖云黑眚空中过，疫鬼被发当门坐。一家疫死两三人，竟有全家剩一个。
一个买棺出外走，皇皇然如丧家狗。家中死人无人守，涕泣请邻人，邻人尽摇手。
东家买棺，西家买棺，郊衢杂遝买已完。急觅一棺到家殓，尸虫出户人人见。
草草藏形，棺薄如翎，鲍鱼之肆有馀腥。亲友避面呼不应，其有贫者不能殓，则裹以草具代以门屏。
殡于田，田有黍。殡于山，山有主。仓猝之间无葬地，累累野厝同抛弃。
三伏暑，六月天。残骸腐骴蒸毒烟，淫霖恶血迸流泉。
饮之者立毙，触之者立颠。因之疫氛传染广大而无边。
有父老疾首蹙额而相告，曰疫深矣若之何。盍申醮祀驱邪魔。
钟鼓备陈，牲醴其罗。斋戒沐浴，祷尔于上下神，只谓可以消疹疠迓祥和。
岂知迪吉者少而遘凶者仍多。吁嗟乎，自古天心多慈厚，我有心香大如帚。
夜夜焚香礼北斗，亟拯疮痍登仁寿，千叩首万叩首。

字少泉，又字瑞生。同治癸酉优贡，历署河南上蔡，宁陵陈留县知事，升用直隶州知州。著有《爱吾庐诗钞》。先生诗宗香山，为人朴讷谨愿，胸无城府。严取与，辨义利，交久益敬。乡里后进有一才一艺者，必为之揄扬不置。需次汴垣，兼藉课徒自给，春秋榜发售者踵接。徐东海相国、朱古薇侍郎其尤著者也。宰上蔡日，终日堂皇，清理狱讼，不三月，囹圄一空。宁陵亦然。调署陈留二年，学道爱人，宽猛相济，政绩尤著。先生五十书怀诗有“两载民情水乳融”之句。年五十一，即自劾旋里。春秋佳日，惟与二三知已饮酒赋诗，不问门以外事，时论高之。
