赖世观（1857～1918），字士仰，号东莱。清嘉义县人。光绪三年（1877）取中台湾府学生员，光绪五年（1879）补廪生。光绪十年（1884），法军侵台，奉命协理嘉义团练总局事宜。光绪十二年（1886）协力缉贼有功，奖赏五品职衔。大正四年（1915）西来庵事件，保障良民有功。晚年多隐居，并行义举，助印《四圣真经》、《城隍明道经》、《湄洲慈济经》等千馀卷善书，赠人诵读，并经常买雀放生。著有《赖士仰广文笔记》、《诸罗漫谈》、《东莱诗文集》、《乙未嘉城沦陷记》等，惜多不传，今仅得见其诗文各数篇。
