红叶片片沉醉于动人的秋色，碧溪潺潺在夜里弹奏起琴弦。
美好的日子逝去不可能再来，凄风苦雨无限让人度日如年。
注释
叶：一作“树”。
碧溪：绿色的溪流。
佳期：美好的时光。
杳（yǎo）：昏暗、遥远，没有尽头。
题玉泉溪创作背景
这首诗最早录载于《树萱录》。胡仔《苕溪渔隐丛话前集》、魏庆之《诗人玉屑》都转录了《树萱录》的记载。前者把此诗列入“鬼诗”类，后者则列为“灵异”类。《全唐诗》的编者在收录此诗时，删去了《树萱录》关于其事的记载，题其作者为“湘驿女子”。

题玉泉溪鉴赏
此诗首句“红叶醉秋色”五字，用重彩绘出一幅枫叶烂漫、秋色正浓的画面。那优美的景色，宜人的气候，令人心醉神驰。“霜叶红于二月花”是描写秋色的名句，然“红叶醉秋色”的境界，却也别具韵味。诗人用一“醉”字，把“红叶”与“秋色”联系起来，使抽象的秋色具体可感，描绘了一幅美丽绚烂的秋景图。用字精炼，以少总多。
次句“碧溪弹夜弦”，也写得情韵萦绕，优美动人。白昼消逝，夜幕降临，枫林隐去，碧蓝澄澈的溪水，潺潺流动，宛然在弹奏一支乐曲，如泣如诉，打破了这也的寂静。夜色如水，不可能不动人情思。这里，“碧”是个诉诸视觉的颜色字。在一般的夜晚，是无法分辨水色的。只有凭借天空的明月，身临溪畔的人，才有可能见得真实，辨得清楚。“弹”字下得也很妙。它不仅写出溪流富有音乐般的诗韵，而且以动衬静，把一个万籁俱寂的夜色，烘托得更加幽深。诗虽未写月，却自有一轮明月朗照；未写人，却有一个少女的倩影徘徊溪畔；未写情，却有一缕悲哀寂寞的情丝，从“夜弦”的曲调中轻轻流出，如泣如诉，萦回耳际。这种虚中见实、实中见虚的写法，笔墨精当，含蕴丰富，营造了一种宁静、幽邃的氛围。
后两句抒情。主人公终于吐出了自己的心声：那曾经有过的美好日子一去不复返了，心爱的人儿再也不会和自己共度美好快乐的时光。陪伴自己的只能是那漫长的凄风苦雨、度日如年的生活。这两句直言不讳地把这位徘徊于月下溪畔的女子内心的秘密，和盘托出。原来她是位失恋的女子，曾有过幸福的爱情，而此时，“佳期”却一去不复返了。可是这位多情女子还像过去一样热恋着爱人。在枫叶如醉、碧溪夜月的环境中，她徘徊着，回忆着，祈望着，等待着，从原野来到溪边，从白天直至深夜。可是，物是人非，再也见不到他的身影。“佳期不可再”，寥寥五字，把这位满怀希望的女子推向了绝望的深渊。她想：“今后的生活又将如何呢？”回答是：“风雨杳如年。”风雨如晦，度日如年，未来的日子是渺茫、悲凉、凄迷的。如果把这里的“风雨”理解为社会“风雨”的话，那么这诗所写的爱情悲剧，就具有更广泛深刻的社会意义了。
这首诗语短情深，措辞委婉而造语清丽。诗人善于选择典型的意象，渲染了一种迷离愁苦的诗境。诗中以景衬情，情与景很好地融合在一起，大大增强了艺术感染力。
