译文
我走在归家的路上，我的老朋友白鸟前来迎接我。我们见了面，互相爱怜又互相欢笑。白鸟说：你满面灰尘，头发白了，面孔也苍老了。你走的时候，我就曾劝你早些回来。
我对白鸟说：我回来，不是由于我的情操高尚，自动请求退隐的；你以为我像张季鹰在千里以外，老是想着家乡的蒪羹美味而弃官回家的吗？完全不是，从今天起，我天天把《北山移文》读它一千遍，永远不和你分开了。

柳梢青·三山归途代白鸥见嘲鉴赏
本词作于他由带湖出仕闽中而被再度罢职重回带湖之时。此词写出了他的这一交织着惭愧与后悔、无奈与愤慨的复杂感受，是一篇极为真实的写心文字。上片主要是通过白鸟迎人嘲笑而追思过去。起韵把自己回家时的潦倒形迹，从白鸟的眼中见出。一个满面尘埃、一事无成的老翁，受到了象征纯洁忘机的“山中老友”白鸟的相迎、相怜与相笑。“满面尘埃”的自我形容，可见词人心里充满了失败的感觉。而白鸟对于词人既友好地相迎、又复相怜相笑的行为，反映了白鸟面对自己需要抚慰的山中老友的复杂态度：可怜他的失败，又忍不住要他为自己的选择负责任。白鸟的这种复杂态度，其实是词人心中对于自己出山失败的复杂感受的外移。接韵由“相怜相笑”引出，明写白鸟责问、奚落他的言辞：你这白发更多、苍老更明显的老头子，当你出山时我曾经劝告你不要出山，即便要出山，也要早些归来，当时我听见了你答应我早些归来的话语。白鸟的这番说辞，意下很为他这么晚才归来而不满。过片以“而今”一词，保持在语气上与上片的承接。白鸟奚落他道：如今你倒是终于归来了，但哪里是因为怀抱高雅、为了“莼菜鲈鱼鱼”而回来呢！意下是说你不过是因为官做不下去了，被别人罢职而不得不回来的。这样的自揭伤口，既表达了词人无端被罢职的愤慨，也表达了他对于自己选择的自嘲与惭愧。在结韵中，白鸟更是对他冷嘲热讽，要他从今以后，每天都把前人讽刺假隐士的《北山移文》诵读一遍，读到一千遍，进行深刻的自我反省。词人对于自己在山“有始无终”的辛辣嘲笑和嘲笑里隐含着的愤慨，至此达到了高潮。全词借白鸟的奚落与谴责，来表达这种交织着后悔与愤慨的心情。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
