译文
我坐船顺流而下，转眼便在这吴头楚尾的地方行了千里。不说那些令人忧愁的事情，看长亭边的大树已经长成今天的样子了。
我已经厌倦了宦游生活，幸好有美人留醉。明天就是寒食节了，风雨吹打落花，暂且住留几日，等天气好了再走。
注释
旅兴，在旅途中引起的兴趣。兴，读去声。
吴头楚尾：滁州为古代楚吴交界之地，故可称“吴头楚尾”。
长亭树，今如此：以“树”代“木”，抒发自己内心的感慨。
宦游吾倦矣，宦场中的生活，我厌倦了。
玉人，容貌美丽的人。后来多以此指美人。这里指高贵的朋友。
寒食：约在冬至后一百零五天左右，清明节前一二天。

霜天晓角·旅兴创作背景
这首词作于淳熙五年（公元1178年），辛弃疾时年三十九岁。在前一年由知江陵府兼湖北路安抚使，迁知隆兴府兼江西路安抚使，这一年的春天，又召为大理寺少卿。可能作者在赴大理少卿任时作的这首词。

霜天晓角·旅兴鉴赏
该词从所表现的情调来看，主要表达了词人对宦游的厌倦之情。而对宦游的厌倦，又是出于自己壮志难酬的苦闷。词人颇想在一个地方与美色亲近盘桓而留连不归。此词抒情，有词人一定的真实情感在内，如对情欲的追求和壮志难酬的苦闷，官场往来的厌烦，但从总体上看，似乎带有一种“少年不知愁滋味”，“为赋新词强说愁”的意味。因为此时的词人，正当意气风发，在朝廷任职，当更激发词人奋身为国的决心。可此词却写得如此颓丧，这就不能不令人怀疑词人写这首词的真实思想。
上片写旅途中所见，舟行千里，看到长亭边的树木已经长大，不由想起了“旧愁新恨”。词人此时已经三十九岁，南归也已经有十六七年了，几十年间作者频繁的调动职务，抗金恢复的壮志一直不能实现。这让词人感到十分的愁苦。
下片词人直抒胸臆，点出来主旨，这分明是对自己饱受朝廷猜忌，大材小用的抱怨之辞，词人此时又遇到了一位美女，这位美人不仅邀词人共饮，而且还留词人多住几日，要词人等到寒食节的风雨过了再走，顺便解除旅途疲劳，这使词人归隐的想法更加强烈。
全词主要抒发了词人“宦游吾倦矣”的感情。这首词所体现的归隐之意，还不同于词人后期词作中的那种归隐的心情，因为这只是一时的牢骚之语，词人仍然对朝廷能够振作精神、北伐复国抱有相当大的希望。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
