和答钱穆父咏猩猩毛笔鉴赏
钱穆父曾写有《咏猩猩毛笔》，此诗为山谷和诗，借咏猩猩毛笔来说明为人处世应该有利于社会，而不应象杨朱一样。诗人从猩猩及毛笔想到生命的价值和意义，深含着对人生命价值的追寻。这是因小见大的写法。“平生几两屐，身后五车书”之句极具惊心动魄的艺术震撼力。
全诗用了多个典故，有些典故的出处并不容易找到，因此读起来多少有些难懂。所以王若虚曾批评山谷的这首诗说：“此及俗子谜也，何足为诗哉！”但也应看到，山谷善于把故实剪裁到诗里，以表现新的内容。如“爱酒”、“能言”两个典故，把猩猩的生动活泼写了出来，此正所谓的“取古人之陈言入于翰墨”。“平生”两句，王士祯谓曰：“超脱而精切，一字不可移易。”最后两句又是用典，一边固是赞扬钱穆父文章了得，一边又以此毛喻杨朱之毛，怪不得纪昀说：“点化甚妙，笔有化工，可为咏物用事之法。”

黄庭坚（1045.8.9-1105.5.24），字鲁直，号山谷道人，晚号涪翁，洪州分宁（今江西省九江市修水县）人，北宋著名文学家、书法家，为盛极一时的江西诗派开山之祖，与杜甫、陈师道和陈与义素有“一祖三宗”（黄庭坚为其中一宗）之称。与张耒、晁补之、秦观都游学于苏轼门下，合称为“苏门四学士”。生前与苏轼齐名，世称“苏黄”。著有《山谷词》，且黄庭坚书法亦能独树一格，为“宋四家”之一。
