落羽的凤凰不如鸡，离开了金銮殿，只好扇动锦衣孤寂哀鸣。
枪打出头鸟，谁叫你那么喜欢提意见？那么会说话？那么会作诗？让笨嘴鸟儿妒忌，现如今只好飞回陇西的故林了。
注释
此诗作于唐玄宗天宝三年（公元744年），诗题一作《敕放归山，留别陆髓御不遇，咏鹦鹉》。金门，汉代宫门名，又名金马门；侍御，侍御史．官名，唐为御史台成员。王侍御、陆侍御，名字不详；鹦鹉，鸟名。种类甚多，羽毛色彩美丽。舌肉质而柔软，经反复训练，能模仿人舀的声音。
落羽，羽毛脱落。金殿，金銮殿。唐宫殿名。
绣衣，御的代称。《汉书》：“王贺为武帝绣衣御史。”
陇西，古地区名。菠指陇山以西地区。约当今甘肃六盘山以西、黄河以东一带。张华《禽经注》：鹦鹉，出陇西，能言鸟也。李白祖籍也在陇西。西：一作山。

初出金门寻王侍御不遇咏壁上鹦鹉创作背景
唐玄宗天宝三年（公元744年），李白被变相地放逐出京，也就是他自己所说的“勃赐归山”。这首诗就作于他离开长安之前，即“初出金门”时，去寻访王侍御史，不遇，看到他壁上碱的鹦鹉，便借咏画，抒写自己遭受谗言，而被迫离开京城的苦闷和怨愤心情。

四旬诗既是咏画中鹦鹉，又是写诗人自己。前两句说，鹦鹉羽毛脱落，离开了金殿，独自依托在侍御家的墙壁上哀鸣，实际上是在写自己遭受挫折，从翰林院失意归来，形单影只，前来向侍御史倾诉衷肠。后两句说，鹦鹉能模仿人说话，终究要被遗弃，最后还得飞向陇西出生之地，实际上也是在说，冉己敢于陈述意见，终究见弃于唐明皇，只好回到自己的故乡去了。题画与言情，两相啮合，取譬精巧，可见诗人高超的艺术造诣。
诗人用鹦鹉的能言喻指自己的才华，既然自己不为朝廷所用,那就只有回归故里了。古时陇西盛产鹦鹉，而陇西正是李白郡望所在，因而诗人对鹦鹉有同病相怜之感。诗中以“陇西”与“金殿”对举，其失落之感尤为强烈。
而这只鹦鹉不是一般的鹦鹉，是从金殿里来的，金殿里的鹦鹉来到此地的原因：一是败羽，二是能言。正因为这样，所以只能孤鸣在野，而且叹息自己失去了锦绣衣装。因为“能言”而“终见弃”，所以只能独自飞向陇西，其实这是诗人以鹦鹉自比，写鹦鹉的遭遇，其实就是抒发自己的情怀，自己就是那只败羽而多言的鹦鹉。

李白（701年－762年），字太白，号青莲居士，唐朝浪漫主义诗人，被后人誉为“诗仙”。祖籍陇西成纪(待考)，出生于西域碎叶城，4岁再随父迁至剑南道绵州。李白存世诗文千余篇，有《李太白集》传世。762年病逝，享年61岁。其墓在今安徽当涂，四川江油、湖北安陆有纪念馆。
