译文
身着白色华裳靠在朱红色的围栏，秋月慢慢向西落去。点染两鬓，已经发白，一年将尽，不知道君还能不能归来呢？
天已经很晚，还在苦苦等待传信的大雁，细小的手绢还是那么稀少。一味的想思，希望可以和原来一样彼此想看。
注释
采桑子：词牌名，双调四十四字，上下片各四句三平韵。另有添字格，两结句各添二字，两平韵，一叠韵。
朱阑：即朱栏，朱红色的围栏。宋王安石《金山寺》诗： “摄身凌苍霞，同凭朱栏语。”
凉月：秋月。趖（suō）西：向西落去。趖：走，移动。
岁晏：一年将尽的时候。唐白居易《观刈麦》诗： “吏禄三百石，岁晏有余粮。”
准拟：料想、希望。

该词乃词人岁末怀人之作，具体创作年份已难以考证，所怀之人是谁也已难考证。或是久思未见的初恋，抑或是亡故的妻子，抑或红颜知己沈宛，又或者是挚友贞观。

采桑子·白衣裳凭朱阑立鉴赏
此词上片写自己在月夜凭栏远望，思念友人，希望友人早日归来。在思念中微蕴年华凋零的身世之感。白衣朱栏，色彩明艳，形象鲜明。细品这词，颇有意味，善于用典的纳兰，仍旧在短词之中，巧妙化用了前人的语句。词中上片的首句就是取白明代王彦泓的《寒词》十六之一，文曰：“从来国色玉光寒，昼视常疑月下看。况复此宵兼雪月，白衣裳凭赤栏干。”
下片借以大雁这一意象来抒发苦等书信的一味相思。大雁有典，取自《汉书·苏武传》。因而有了鸿雁传书一说，大雁这个意象也在诗歌中蔓延起来。文人写雁，用以表达思乡怀人的情思。最后，末句引用宋时晏几道《采桑子》：“秋来更觉销魂苦，小字还稀。坐想行思，怎得相看似旧时。”秋来销魂之苦，苦之深，思之切，叫人乱了心绪，坐想行思，怎也无法躲避开这纷乱的回忆，对故人的相思。怎得想看似旧时，怀念过去之人深切苦楚，可如何能回到旧时的时光，不再为这时光渐远而伤怀叹息？恐怕时光的脚步还是听不见他心底恰似痴狂的呐喊，无法让他如愿穿梭回到过去。
“一味相思”是这首词主旨，全词围绕此句展开二词平语浅，文不甚深，但是行文流美深婉，刻画细腻。

纳兰性德（1655－1685），满洲人，字容若，号楞伽山人，清代最著名词人之一。其诗词“纳兰词”在清代以至整个中国词坛上都享有很高的声誉，在中国文学史上也占有光采夺目的一席。他生活于满汉融合时期，其贵族家庭兴衰具有关联于王朝国事的典型性。虽侍从帝王，却向往经历平淡。特殊的生活环境背景，加之个人的超逸才华，使其诗词创作呈现出独特的个性和鲜明的艺术风格。流传至今的《木兰花令·拟古决绝词》——“人生若只如初见，何事秋风悲画扇？等闲变却故人心，却道故人心易变。”富于意境，是其众多代表作之一。
