世上能了解自己的人实在在太少了，正因我想起了你，使我不忍心与你分别。
离别前的夜晚，我们能携着手走啊走，夜深了，我们仍踏在满地皎潆的月光中谈心。
注释
知音：知己的朋友。相传古代伯牙善鼓零，其友钟子期善听琴能从琴音中知其心志。钟子期死，伯牙不复鼓琴，痛无知音。此诗中亦指韩愈的文章知己。希：同“稀”。
念子：想念你。不能别：不忍心分别。
行行：指来回一起踱步不停。
携（xié）手： 用以表现朋友之间的亲密的关系。
知音者诚希创作背景
贞元十四年（798年）韩愈与孟郊、李翱在汴州会晤。三位文士相聚汴府，自有讲文论道、诗酒酬唱的快意事。但孟郊别有愁怀，不得不离汴南归。临行前，韩愈写了《知音者诚希》这首诗。

知音者诚希鉴赏
首句开门见山，喊出一声感慨，叹人间知音难觅，其势如飞瀑直下，让人直觉晴天闻雷，立刻惊警。在这句诗里，诗人采用典中典之法，首先化用了南朝文人刘勰之语。
诗人又溶人了春秋战国时俞伯牙、钟子期“高山流水”识知音的典故。伯牙所念，子期心明。俞伯牙用琴声表达了他像高山一样雄伟屹立于天地之间的人格形象，像大海一样浩渺纵横于宇宙之间的胸襟气度，而钟子期的情操和智慧，恰好同他产生了共鸣和契合，于是二人成了知音。
然而子期既死，伯牙绝弦。诗人溶入此典正是为抒发“欲将心事付瑶琴，知音少，弦断有谁听”（岳飞词）之慨。这典中之典，不仅让这句诗内容大大增量，而且还让诗人感慨的语气大大加重。特别是这样的诗句出自韩愈这样一个在政坛和文坛上均属顶级人物之口，再联想到他独特的身世和遭遇，就更觉得这一声感慨有雷霆万钧之力。
这首诗写诗人与知心朋友孟郊不忍离别，只好踏着满地的月色，彻夜相叙。道出知音难寻，依依惜别之情。寥寥四句诗，写出惜别情感，生动真切，极富感染力。

韩愈（768～824）字退之，唐代文学家、哲学家、思想家，河阳（今河南省焦作孟州市）人，汉族。祖籍河北昌黎，世称韩昌黎。晚年任吏部侍郎，又称韩吏部。谥号“文”，又称韩文公。他与柳宗元同为唐代古文运动的倡导者，主张学习先秦两汉的散文语言，破骈为散，扩大文言文的表达功能。宋代苏轼称他“文起八代之衰”，明人推他为唐宋八大家之首，与柳宗元并称“韩柳”，有“文章巨公”和“百代文宗”之名，作品都收在《昌黎先生集》里。韩愈在思想上是中国“道统”观念的确立者，是尊儒反佛的里程碑式人物。
